Full military rites will be accorded by the combined honor guards of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsburg and American Legion Post 902 of Houston. Please, meet the family at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. Monday in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street Canonsburg (72). Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of services, Friday, November 28, in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. a brother, Paul Reeder and four sisters, Mary, Helen and Genieve and one who died in infancy. Reeder was the last of his immediate family. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are seven sons, Dennis (Beverly) Reeder of Alabama, Kenneth (Debra) Reeder of Texas, David Reeder of North Carolina, Matthew Reeder at Michigan State University, Joel Reeder of Claysville, Edward (Cathy) Randour of Erie and Alan (Sharon) DePaoli of Bridgeville four daughters, Susan (William) Kurtz of Georgia, Carrie (Robert) Amic of McDonald, Tamara Hampe of Houston and Judith (Gary) Lander of Monongahela numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. On September 21, 1981, he married Betty Frazier, who survives. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening. Reeder was a huge Penn State football fan. He attended Thomas Presbyterian Church, Eighty Four. Reeder worked for Westinghouse as an electrical engineer for 48 years. While in the service, he received the Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon and American Theater Ribbon. Army with the 331st Army Air Force Base Unit. Reeder graduated from Penn State University with an engineering degree. He was born August 25, 1925, in Butler, a son of Frederick John and Mabel Wofford Reeder. John enjoyed hunting with his sons and was a volunteer Hunter Safety Education instructor for 31 years. He was a lifetime member of the Friendship Hose Company, Sunbury, the Sunbury Fire Police, Mid Penn Sportsman Club, Kratzerville, the Kreamer Sportsman Club, and was once president of the Keystone Fish and Game Club, Shamokin, and Mid Penn. He was also employed by EPSCO of Montandon before retiring. He soon entered partnership with his father in the contracting business and was later self-employed as a contractor for 40 years, partnering with his good friend and brother-in-law, Carroll Newquist. As a young man John was employed at Spurr Gas Station, Sunbury and while working at Champ Hats, Sunbury he met his Mary. John was a 1958 graduate of Danville High School and served in the Army National Guard from 1962 to 1969.

Together they celebrated 52 years of marriage. He was born July 18, 1940, in Sunbury, a son of the late John W. Reeder Jr., 75, of 225 State St., Sunbury, passed away at his home on Saturday, Jan.
